About Me

me-and-oaks.jpg

Hello! I'm Stacy, the person behind the camera. I'm a dog person, and a 3rd grade teacher by day.

I love taking photos of landscapes, wildlife, and especially dogs, dogs, dogs! I have 3 of my own. . . Quinn, Oakley, and Pi. I most enjoy capturing their expressions and personalities, and am always working to improve my skills so that I can better portray their stories.

I've always been interested in photography, but learned most of what I know from taking classes from Amy Johnson at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. If you'd like a great education on how to use your camera to photograph dogs, I'd highly recommend checking out her classes. They're fantastic.

I'm definitely a dog behavior geek, which is one reason I love doing nosework with my dogs. I've enjoyed taking classes with them, with 3 different dogs now, and I could just sit for hours and watch dogs and their searching behaviors without even beginning to get bored.  It's so much fun to photograph their searches!!

Below are some recent photos of my dogs, Quinn, Oakley, and Pi.

Quinn

Here's Quinn. He's 12, takes his life rather seriously, loves visiting hospitals and care centers as a therapy dog, and is my retired service dog, after working for years giving me stability for an inner ear balance disorder. We started out doing nosework together. He's the sweetest, snuggliest, most intuitive boy I've ever met.

 Oakley

Oakley is 6. He's my current service dog, and he also loves retrieving pretty much everything, especially his ball! He's wicked smart and always up for an adventure. Oakley started out doing nosework as a puppy, but it interfered with his service dog work, so he's had to put that on hold until he retires.

Pi

Pi is a bundle of sunshine. She's my current nosework dog and is probably around 5. She loves nothing more than to tear through the brush after small critters, make friends with anyone and everyone, both human and canine, sneak a kiss of your face, and curl up on warm laps! If you've met her, you'll remember her with a smile for sure.
